Clean, fast MIDI recorder for iOS.

What it does

One-button MIDI recorder. Connect any Bluetooth or USB-C MIDI keyboard (or use the built-in on-screen piano), tap the red record button, play, tap to stop. The take saves to your library as a Standard MIDI File you can audition through a built-in piano sound or share to any DAW.

Quick start

External MIDI keyboard: pair it via iOS Settings → Bluetooth (for BLE-MIDI) or plug it in via USB-C, then open MIDI Memos and tap record.
No hardware? Tap Show keyboard on the Record tab — the on-screen piano feeds the recorder identically.
Optional click: tap the Click pill before recording.
Share a take: open it from the Library tab, tap the share icon, send to GarageBand, Logic, Files, AirDrop, Mail, etc.

Common issues

Bluetooth keyboard not appearing: pair it in iOS Settings → Bluetooth first. The CoreMIDI subsystem picks it up automatically once the OS sees it.

No sound on playback: check the silent switch and media volume. MIDI Memos plays through your device speaker by default (or AirPods / connected output if active).

Recording stopped on lock screen: background recording is on a best-effort basis for V1. For long sessions, keep the screen awake.
